Taiwan stainless steel tube/pipe market sentiment remains weak

The nickel price on the LME fell to USD 16,600 per tonne on September 14th 2009, since then, the nickel price has stabilized at over USD 17,000 per tonne.

Market participants said that the stainless steel price had very close relationship with the nickel price and most buyers were holding an attitude of waiting and seeing.

Although the mills will not cut the price for October because the nickel price has stabilized at USD 17,000 per tonne, the market sentiment remained weak.
